What’s new in actiPLANS

License Management Permission

This month, we’ve added a new interface to our products – Licenses. It can be accessed only by confirmed license managers and allows them to renew actiTIME / actiPLANS subscriptions, make in-product purchases and grant the license management permission to other users. Besides, we will use license managers’ contact information to deliver important service-related messages. Thus, this feature will make subscription management more secure and our communications with your team more efficient.

Find more about how it works in our User Guide.

Customizable Lockout Policy Settings

Lockout policies reduce the risk of data breaches by disabling user accounts for some time after a series of unsuccessful logins. A standard lockout policy is implemented in actiPLANS as well, but we’ve advanced product security even further by allowing admin users to customize Lockout Policy rules. You can now set up the lockout counter and lockout duration at your discretion and identify a preferable number of unsuccessful sign-in attempts.

To learn more about the Lockout Policy feature, check the actiPLANS User Guide.

New Leave Type – Remote Work (Covid)

The in-progress coronavirus pandemic has made absence management more tricky than before as an increasing number of employees are now working from home. Considering this, we’ve added a new leave type to our products – Remote work (covid). You may use it to track the reasons for your workers’ absence more efficiently and with greater attention to detail.

Options for Access to Colleagues’ Leave Requests

Not that long ago, regular users could freely see their colleagues’ leave requests and comments in actiPLANS. For many, such a situation was a big concern.

To protect users’ sensitive information, we’ve added two new data access options. Now, you may configure actiPLANS to:

  • Hide others’ comments from regular users,
  • Or switch off the review of colleagues’ leave requests as a whole.

By setting preferable access options this way, you’ll help your team members feel more comfortable when sharing notes with managers in their actiPLANS accounts.

Integration of Leave Schedules with External Calendars

One of the most frequent update requests by actiPLANS users was to be able to export data from corporate leave schedules to Google Calendar and similar calendaring apps. Now we are thrilled to announce the release of a new feature that will allow you to do just that – the so-called iCalendar Feeds.

This feature provides admin users with an opportunity to generate iCal feeds as either URLs or ICS files with the information on types and periods of leave time requested by employees.

Configuration of data types available in actiPLANS when creating a new iCal feed

Any of the iCal feeds can be shared with other actiPLANS users and, most importantly, easily built in external calendaring / scheduling apps and extensions. In this way, all actiPLANS users with access to iCal data will be able to see organizational and personal leave schedules as part of other digital timetables and to-do lists.

Visibility Settings

We have added a new privacy / visibility parameter to actiPLANS General Settings. It allows you to choose if regular users may see their colleagues’ leave schedules.

When users are not permitted to view others’ leave requests and planned time off, Schedule of Colleagues becomes hidden from them in the My Schedule interface. In this situation, managers can review and approve employees’ leave requests only in the Leaves Management interface.
